Custom Key Remapping and Overriding Default Controls

I want to be able to modify or override core avatar controls (like the Space Bar) using custom code in the editor. For example, I'd like to map the Space Bar to generate an object instead of jumping. This is important because the current hardcoded controls limit the ability to create custom gameplay mechanics and unique interactions.
